SMART-Water Optimal Risk Management (SMART-WORM) is an IT platform, built within a custom Geographic Information System, for the development, application and deployment of optimal mitigation works for water-driven natural disaster risk reduction and smart land/urban element management, protection under severe climatic and hydrologic conditions from the global to the local scale.
SMART-WORM is a valuable GIS-based tool, specifically design for urban/land planning and risk mitigation projects aiming to minimize the flood risk by means of structural and non-structural protection measures SMART-WORM provides intuitive deterministic solutions for risk management and mitigation work design making extensive use of available spatial and numerical information from global GIS and Earth Observation (EO) databases
